NEW: The access road in the morning is for parent drop off traffic ONLY!

NEW: There is no parking along the access road.

Since Greystone is a neighborhood school, some of our students and families choose to walk to school. Students who walk to school may enter school at the door (assigned to their grade-level) every morning. The recess yard will not be used in the morning.

Some families choose to park in our back or front parking lots (by the football field) and walk their child to their designated door. That is welcomed however parents/guardians may not enter the play yard or office lobby (unless you have an appointment) for the safety of our students.

Please wear your mask and practice social distancing.

Parents/guardians may use our access road via Morgan Avenue to “drop and go”.  It is marked as a “BUS ONLY LANE”. Due to COVID-19 guidelines the bus only lane will be used for parent drop off. Traffic enters through Morgan Avenue. Travel down the the lane, stop at the marked area and  drop off your child. Students may only exit cars one car load at a time to maintain social distancing.

We ask that your child is “backpack ready”  so our traffic pattern remains smooth!

Kindergarten, PK, & Mrs. Schatz Door 8-right of main entrance
Grades 1, 2 and Ms. Crudale Door 4-play yard
Grades 3-5 Door 6-play yard

In an effort to help with dismissal procedures and questions after the school day please note the following:

    1. Our school office secretary, Miss Brenda, is available between the hours of 8:30-3:30 to answer questions regarding transportation concerns. Please call the school directly at 233.1130
    2. If you have any questions regarding dismissal after 3:30 please call our central office at 233.1100 extension 4. If you prefer please call Durham Bus Company directly at 751.0534 with any bus concern or issue; they will be happy to help!
    3. Download the “Durham Bus Tracker App” to track the bus. You will need your child’s school ID number.
    4. It is very important that parents send a note to the child’s teacher letting them know how they will be home throughout the course of a week. Many children have multiple ways of getting home, depending on the day of the week, and this changes often throughout the day. We rely on the  classroom teacher to receive this information from parents.
    5. Bus drivers and monitors will not release any child at a bus stop if a parent is not waiting to meet them. If there is no adult to receive the child, students will be brought back to Greystone School.
    6. The North Providence Police will be contacted in the event a child is not picked up.                        It is important to keep all telephone numbers up-to-date as well as emergency contact information. You can call our main office at 233.1130 between the hours of 8:30-3:30 to do so.

Students may walk home or ride their bike with written parent permission. Typcially only students in grades 4 & 5 may do so. It is dependent upon the situation.
